Over the last few years, LED downlights have struggled to perform to the same standard as halogen downlights, for example. When we talk about lighting performance we generally refer to the light output of a light fitting, rather than the whole package which also includes beam angle, colour rendering, heat sink, appearance, cost & of course, energy efficiency.

Fortunately for you, the consumer, there is a new LED downlight on the market that ticks all the boxes. The new Ecolite LED downlight from Sunny Lighting Australia has only been on the market for a few months but is already taking the market by storm. At Wattwerx Electrical we have been very busy installing these fantastic LED downlights for clients who have been really impressed by their performance. These clients include those requiring energy efficient lighting to meet new building standards for new domestic & commercial properties & also those wanting to upgrade from the old, poor-performing halogen dichroic downlights.

See the image above for all of the benefits of these new LED downlights, & here are a couple of quick points we have noted after seeing them working & also hearing what our clients have said about them:

  • With a massive light output of 680 Lumens these downlights are bright! They have the equivalent light output of a 50 Watt halogen globe but actually appear brighter because of the wide beam-angle
  • At only 10 Watts of energy consumption (12 Watts including LED-driver) they are one-fifth the consumption of a 50 Watt halogen globe
  • They stay cool at an operating temperature of around 40 degrees Celsius, as opposed to 300 degrees of a halogen globe – meaning there is no extra safety protection required inside the roof-space
  • An attractive sealed-face unit means no air can escape through your ceiling, therefore effecting heating costs & influencing the energy efficiency of your property
  • 90 degrees beam-angle spreads the light better than a halogen fitting at 60 degrees, which means less amount of downlights are required to light a space
  • Lifespan – an average of lifespan of 50,000 hours (approx. 30 years) means less maintenance, less costs & less headaches
  • Fully dimmable
  • Straight changeover for 90mm halogen fittings – minimal installation costs
  • Warm white & cool white colour options to suit your needs

As you can see, these brilliant new LED downlights are certainly the way forward for energy efficient lighting. Call Adam at Wattwerx Electrical today for a free on-site demonstration & a no obligation quotation & upgrade your lighting to the best quality LED downlight available on the market today!
